Google Adsense is one of the best ways for average people to make money on the web but it is a tool that you need to learn how to use.

Successful AdSense marketers check their analytics using the AdSense Accounts often. They go there at least once a week to see how many clicks their getting and what their Pay Per Click income is. Then they carefully analyze that information to see how they can increase their click rate and the income it generates.

There are three things that you want to look at when you check your AdSense: Impressions, ClickThroughs and Effective CPM. Impressions show the number of times your ad sense ads have been viewed. Your impressions can show which of your ads are attracting visitors and which aren’t. You can increase your impressions by increasing the traffic to your site or sites.

Clickthroughs specifically refers to the number of visitors to your site who click on the ads displayed there. Even though you have no control over the ads which Google places on your site, you can determine where to place them. You can see if an ad placed in a certain spot gets more clicks and ask yourself why. Looking at Clicktrhoughs can show you which products are attracting attention and clicks and give you ideas for new marketing efforts. A site dedicated to one product or service is more likely to attract Clickthroughs.

Your AdSense earnings are monitored through Effective CPM which measures per thousand clicks. Sites with high Effective CPM get more advertising bids and generate more revenue.

A program called an AdSense tracker can help you monitor your Effective CPM which can tell you more about your clicks and visitors. Use the tracker to run a variety of tests on your AdSense so you’ll learn more about your visitors.

Another method is to use Google’s AdSense metrics to examine other sites similar to yours to see how much traffic they’re getting. Once you’ve found high traffic sites take a close look at them and try to determine why they’re getting traffic.  Then make changes to your site to make it more like those sites. At the same time you should examine some sites that aren’t doing well to determine what they’re doing wrong.

Google AdSense can be a powerful money making tool for Online Entrepreneurs but it is only a tool. You have to learn how to use AdSense and make it work for you if you want to make money with it.
